Crookwell Beat Mudchooks
[ Saturday, 28 April 2012 ]

The Mudchooks travelled to Crookwell on 28 April, and were beaten by the more experienced Crookwell Dogs team 25-10.

The Bungendore players played better this week compared to their loss against Jindabyne last week and coach Ben Stevenson was very positive about their performance, despite the result. Ben said that the team’s tackling had improved and their communication on the field was much better as the new players get used to one another. He also said he was very happy with the players’ attitude with the young and inexperienced members all stepping up to face the challenge of playing against a much more experienced team and showing overall improvement in their game.

The Crookwell team dominated possession during the game through their large forward pack and as a result were able to score four tries to the Mudchooks’ two. The first Mudchook try was scored midway through the first half by Sandy Beggs as a result of a driving maul by the Mudchooks. The second Mudchook try was as a result of a sparkling individual effort by Josh Stevens.

Tymlock Fencing 3 points – Adam Gowen-; Bungendore Rural Services 2 points – Andrew Turner; Royal Hotel 1 point – Eddie Mitford-Burgess; Bungendore Community Bank coach’s award Tom Vestey; Chicks Pick – Josh Stevens.

The Mudchooks play their next match against Taralga at Bungendore on 5 May, with a 2:30pm kick off.
