Hard day for the Mudchooks
[ Saturday, 18 May 2013 ]
After enjoying a week off with a bye, the Mudchooks travelled up to Jindabyne on Saturday to take on the reigning premiers of 2012, and it didn’t take long for the inform Bushpigs to cross for their first of many tries on the day.
The Chooks defence once again let them down with too many missed tackles and poor ball retention. The few times that Bungendore had the ball they looked dangerous in attack with some great forward momentum shown by the forward pack.
By half time the Chooks were down 34-0 and it was looking like it was going to by a very long day, but after a passionate half time speech by coach Dave McDonald the team really came together and lifted in the second half. After pressuring the Jindabyne line for 10 minutes, Mudchooks half Rodney Clarke crossed for a cheeky try. But unfortunately it was too late for the Chooks to have a chance of a fairytale comeback, with Jindabyne crossing for another two tries before the final whistle ending the match 48-5.
The Mudchooks would also like to congratulate Tim Moffitt on his recent engagement.
The next match is in Bungendore against Boorowa on the 25th May at 2:30 followed by the ‘Chooks of the Caribbean’ scavenger hunt.
